Summary
This study tests whether adding the steroid hydrocortisone to standard treatment can reduce deaths and complications in ICU patients with severe hospital-acquired pneumonia. About 180 adults in the ICU will receive either hydrocortisone or a placebo. The goal is to see if this inexpensive drug improves survival and recovery.
