Kidney surgery linked to scrotum swelling? massive study investigates
NCT ID NCT07483463
First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study used health records from Ontario, Canada, to see if men who had a type of kidney surgery (laparoscopic pyeloplasty) are more likely to later need surgery for a hydrocele, a fluid-filled sac around the testicle. Researchers compared 15,000 men who had the kidney surgery to similar men who did not. The goal was to understand if the kidney procedure raises the risk of this complication.
