Special cream added to breast milk may boost growth in tiniest babies

NCT ID NCT01487928

Summary

This study tested whether adding a cream made from human milk to regular breast milk helps very small premature babies gain weight better. Researchers enrolled 78 infants weighing between 1.7 and 2.8 pounds at birth. They compared babies who received the cream-enriched milk to those who received standard fortified milk to see which group grew faster.
