NCT ID NCT04464434
First seen Mar 29, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tested whether using a stem cell transplant early in the disease is better than starting with standard immunosuppressive drugs for people with a severe form of scleroderma. Sixty adults with early diffuse scleroderma were randomly assigned to either receive their own stem cells or usual care with medications. The goal was to see which approach leads to better survival and less organ damage.
