Scientists hunt clues in blood and skin to solve painful skin disease mystery
NCT ID NCT07388446
Summary
This study aims to understand how a specific type of immune cell, called MAIT cells, is involved in hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), a painful chronic skin condition. Researchers will collect blood and skin samples from 45 adults with moderate-to-severe HS and compare them to people with other skin conditions. The goal is to see if these cells can help explain why HS happens and predict who will respond to standard biologic treatments.
