Scientists probe hidden immune clues in painful skin disease
NCT ID NCT07388446
Summary
This research study aims to understand how a specific type of immune cell, called MAIT cells, is involved in hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), a chronic and painful skin condition. Researchers will compare blood and skin samples from 45 adults with moderate-to-severe HS to samples from people with other skin conditions like psoriasis or acne. The goal is to see if these cells can help explain why HS happens and predict which patients might respond best to certain medications.
