Could a simple swab at home replace a Doctor's visit for cervical cancer screening?

NCT ID NCT05600283

Summary

This study tested whether a self-collected vaginal swab kit is as accurate as a doctor-collected cervical swab for detecting HPV, the virus that causes cervical cancer. Researchers compared the results from 222 women who used the home kit with the results from their standard clinic exam. The goal is to see if this easier method could help more people get screened.
