Could a drug combo supercharge immune attack on HPV head and neck cancer?

NCT ID NCT05317000

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether combining a chemotherapy drug (5-azacytidine) with an immunotherapy drug (nivolumab) can make HPV-related head and neck cancer more sensitive to the immune system. About 50 people with resectable oropharynx cancer will receive one or both drugs before their planned surgery. The goal is to see if the combination leads to a stronger anti-tumor immune response than either drug alone.
