Survey order may skew depression scores in scleroderma patients

NCT ID NCT06772896

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looked at whether the way depression questions are arranged affects how people with scleroderma answer them. 851 adults with scleroderma were randomly assigned to take a standard depression survey either in the usual order or with physical symptom questions (like sleep and fatigue) listed first and separately. The goal was to see if people score these physical symptoms differently when they know they are being asked about depression.
