Summary
This study aimed to understand exactly how beta-blocker medications help improve heart function in people with severe heart failure. Researchers studied 55 adults with weakened heart muscles to see if the drugs make the heart muscle itself contract more strongly. They also tested if a person's heart response to a different drug could predict who would benefit most from beta-blocker treatment.
