Home sleep test may replace lab visits for kids after tonsil surgery
NCT ID NCT05516524
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a home sleep apnea test (HSAT) is as accurate as a standard lab sleep test (PSG) for checking if children still have sleep apnea after having their tonsils removed. 62 children aged 5-12 who had tonsil surgery for sleep apnea took both tests. The goal was to see if the simpler home test could reliably measure breathing problems during sleep, potentially reducing the need for overnight hospital stays.
