Home blood pressure cuff doubles as heart monitor in new study
NCT ID NCT04464499
Summary
This study is testing a home blood pressure monitor that also takes a simple heart rhythm reading (ECG). Researchers want to see if the device can accurately detect atrial fibrillation, a common irregular heartbeat, compared to the standard 12-lead ECG used in hospitals. The study involves 160 adults and will check how well the device's automatic readings match expert cardiologist reviews.
