Blood sugar sensitivity may determine heart procedure success

This study looks at whether insulin resistance (when the body doesn't respond well to insulin) can predict how well a heart procedure called pulsed field ablation works for people with atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat). About 120 non-diabetic patients having their first ablation will have their insulin resistance measured from a routine blood test. Researchers will then check if those with higher insulin resistance are more likely to need a repeat procedure, which could lead to better treatment plans in the future.
