First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looked at how well a heart-lung machine (HL 40) and its temperature probes worked during heart, chest, or blood vessel surgeries. It included 184 patients who needed their blood pumped and oxygenated by the machine during the operation. The goal was to see if the devices failed or caused any problems. The study was stopped early, but the results help doctors understand the device's real-world safety.
