First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tested a program called Abriendo Puertas (Opening Doors) for transgender women living with HIV in Santo Domingo. The program included individual counseling, peer support, and community activities to help women take their HIV medication regularly and keep the virus under control. About 120 women took part, and researchers checked their viral load and care habits over 12 months. The goal was to see if this tailored support improves viral suppression and overall well-being.
