Scientists test four different HIV vaccine recipes in search for protection
NCT ID NCT02038842
Summary
This study tested four different combinations of experimental HIV vaccines in healthy volunteers to see which approach was safest and best at triggering an immune response. Ninety-two participants at low risk of HIV infection received different sequences of vaccine shots over several months. Researchers measured safety and whether the vaccines prompted the body's immune cells to react to HIV proteins.
