Routine HIV testing in primary care could boost prevention in mississippi

NCT ID NCT07446764

First seen Mar 09, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looks at whether offering HIV and STI testing as a standard, opt-out part of primary care visits—along with navigation to PrEP (a daily pill that prevents HIV)—increases how often these services are used. About 700 adults aged 18 to 45 at health centers in Mississippi will take part. Researchers will compare a period of usual care to a period with the integrated model to see if it improves testing rates and patient experience.
