First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests if adding dapagliflozin (a diabetes drug) or a specific statin combo can help people with HIV who have gained weight and have high cholesterol. About 300 adults aged 40-75 on common HIV meds will be randomly assigned to receive either dapagliflozin or a placebo, and either a statin combo or another statin. The goal is to see if these drugs can reduce weight and bad cholesterol, potentially lowering heart disease risk.
