Global study reveals HIV resistance patterns to key drug

NCT ID NCT06285110

First seen Nov 26, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study enrolled over 1,100 people living with HIV whose current dolutegravir-based treatment was failing (viral load over 1,000 copies/mL). Researchers collected blood samples and sequenced the virus's entire genome to identify which drug-resistance mutations were present. The goal was to understand how different HIV subtypes develop resistance, helping doctors choose better treatments in the future.
