First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looked at whether special hip muscle exercises can help older adults improve their balance and prevent falls. Researchers tested 97 people aged 65 and older who were generally healthy and living independently. They compared high-velocity hip power training to conventional strength training to see which better improves sideways stepping, a key movement for avoiding falls.
