HIIT workouts may stop diabetes from coming back

NCT ID NCT07565935

First seen May 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether a home-based high-intensity interval training (HIIT) programme can help people who have reversed their type 2 diabetes keep it from returning. Twenty adults who completed the NHS Path to Remission programme will either do HIIT three times a week or continue their usual routine for 16 weeks. Researchers will measure how well the pancreas produces insulin and track blood sugar control to see if exercise helps maintain remission.
