Could intense workouts help heal the heart after a stroke?
NCT ID NCT06132516
Summary
This study is testing whether a specific type of exercise, called High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), can improve heart health and recovery in people who have recently had a stroke. Fifty patients within three months of their stroke will be randomly assigned to either do HIIT workouts on a stationary bike or a gentler group exercise program, in addition to their standard rehab. Researchers will measure changes in heart rate variability, a key indicator of heart health and recovery, to see which approach is more beneficial.
