New MRI technique may spot elusive epilepsy lesions

NCT ID NCT06550726

First seen Apr 15, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether a high-resolution MRI can find small brain lesions that cause focal epilepsy but are missed by standard scans. About 66 people with drug-resistant epilepsy will receive both a regular and a detailed MRI. The goal is to see if the advanced scan improves diagnosis and helps guide surgical treatment.
