Can two advanced heart maps guide a more precise fix for dangerous arrhythmias?
NCT ID NCT07746336
First seen Aug 05, 2026 · Last updated Aug 26, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This trial tests whether combining two advanced heart-mapping technologies can make ablation for ventricular tachycardia (VT) more accurate and effective. The approach merges a non-invasive 3D electrical map of the heart with detailed scar imaging from an MRI, aiming to better target the abnormal tissue causing the arrhythmia. The study enrolls adults with structural heart disease who are scheduled for VT ablation, and it will track whether the combined mapping reduces VT recurrence and improves procedural success.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- A combined mapping workflow using two CE-marked devices: ADAS 3D, which analyzes cardiac MRI to characterize scar tissue, and ACORYS, which performs non-invasive electrocardiographic mapping to guide and verify ventricular tachycardia ablation.
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this approach could make ventricular tachycardia ablation more precise, potentially reducing the chance of the arrhythmia returning and improving long-term outcomes for people with structural heart disease.
- What could go wrong
- This is a relatively small, early-stage feasibility study, so results may not apply broadly. The added complexity of combining two mapping systems could also introduce technical challenges or longer procedure times.

Inclusion criteria * Age ≥18 years. * Diagnosis of structural heart disease (ischemic or non-ischemic cardiomyopathy). * Documented sustained monomorphic VT (clinical or inducible), or recurrent ICD therapies for VT. * Scheduled for catheter ablation of VT according to current international guidelines. * Ability to provide written informed consent. * Ability to remain upright or seated to allow a video for 3D torso reconstruction for ECGi acquisition. Exclusion criteria * Age \<18 years. * Pregnant or breastfeeding women. * Inability to provide informed consent due to physical or mental condition. * Contraindication to computed tomography or cardiac magnetic resonance (magnetic resonance imaging-incompatible devices, claustrophobia). * Contraindication to contrast agents (gadolinium allergy or severe renal dysfunction with estimated glomerular filtration rate \<30 mL/min/1.73 m²). * Inability to remain upright for torso 3D reconstruction required for ECGi. * Life expectancy \<1 year due to non-cardiac comorbidity.
