Higher dose injection tested for Tough-to-Treat schizophrenia
NCT ID NCT00539071
Summary
This study tested whether higher doses of a long-acting injectable antipsychotic medication work better than standard doses for people with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder whose symptoms aren't well controlled. 160 participants received either the usual dose or a higher dose injection every two weeks for six months. Researchers measured changes in symptoms to see which dose was more effective for patients who hadn't responded well to previous treatments.
