NCT ID NCT07155330
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a high-flow nasal cannula (a device that delivers warm, moist oxygen through the nose) can reduce the risk of low oxygen levels during sedated gastrointestinal endoscopy in people at high risk for obstructive sleep apnea. The trial involved 80 adults with a STOP-Bang score of 5 or higher who were scheduled for procedures like gastroscopy or colonoscopy. The goal was to see if this oxygen method could prevent hypoxia, a common complication during sedation.
