Cancer vans bring genetic testing to women who need it most

NCT ID NCT05649072

First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study aims to find women in Texas who are at risk for hereditary breast, ovarian, and colorectal cancers but have limited access to healthcare. Researchers will use mobile mammography units to offer genetic testing and counseling on the spot. Up to 1,000 women will provide a saliva sample and answer questions to see if they qualify for standard genetic counseling. The goal is to catch cancer risk early in underserved communities.
