Pomegranate and neem mouthwashes take on chlorhexidine in Kids' oral health showdown

NCT ID NCT07309679

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tested two herbal mouthwashes made from pomegranate peel and neem against a standard chlorhexidine mouthwash in 156 school children aged 8-12. The goal was to see if the natural options could reduce plaque, gum inflammation, and bacteria just as well, but with fewer side effects like tooth staining. Results will show whether these herbal alternatives are safe and effective for everyday use in children.
