New triple therapy shows promise against hard-to-treat bile duct cancer

NCT ID NCT06178445

First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests a combination of chemotherapy (gemcitabine/cisplatin) plus two targeted drugs (trastuzumab and pembrolizumab) as a first treatment for people with HER2-positive bile duct or gallbladder cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. About 24 adults will receive the triple therapy to see how many have their tumors shrink. The goal is to control the disease, not cure it.
