Summary
This study aimed to learn more about Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection by observing people who tested positive for it while donating blood. Researchers followed 805 participants over time to understand how the virus spreads, who develops liver problems, and how infectious people with HCV are. The study did not provide treatment; its main goal was to gather information about the natural course of the infection.
