Dental trial seeks best agent to stop bleeding and save tooth nerves

NCT ID NCT07058727

First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests three different agents (sodium hypochlorite, chlorhexidine, and cold saline) to stop bleeding during a partial pulpotomy, a dental procedure that removes only the top part of the tooth's pulp. Researchers will measure pain levels and how well the pulp survives over 12 months in 75 adults with cavities that reached the pulp but without spontaneous pain. The goal is to find which agent works best to keep the tooth alive and reduce discomfort.
