Dental study seeks best way to stop bleeding and save tooth nerves

NCT ID NCT07058727

First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests three different agents (sodium hypochlorite, chlorhexidine, and cold saline) to control bleeding during a partial pulpotomy—a procedure that removes only the top part of the tooth's nerve. Researchers will measure pain levels and nerve survival in 75 adults with cavities that reached the pulp but caused no spontaneous pain. The goal is to find which agent works best to keep the tooth alive and reduce discomfort after treatment.
