First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests whether a single dose of misoprostol, a medication often used in gynecology, can reduce blood loss during surgery to remove uterine fibroids (myomectomy). About 80 women having laparoscopic or open surgery will receive either misoprostol or a placebo before their procedure. The goal is to see if this safe, well-tolerated drug can make surgery safer by lowering the risk of heavy bleeding.
