First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding a special filter (hemoperfusion) to regular dialysis can better remove harmful substances like beta-2 microglobulin, parathyroid hormone, and C-reactive protein from the blood of people with end-stage kidney disease. About 410 adults on maintenance dialysis will be randomly assigned to receive either standard dialysis or dialysis plus hemoperfusion. The goal is to see if the combination treatment improves toxin clearance and overall blood purification.
