Scientists use helium scans to see how lungs breathe
NCT ID NCT02154568
Summary
This study aimed to validate computer models of lung airflow by taking real measurements. Researchers used a special MRI scan with inhaled helium gas to map airflow in the lungs of both healthy people and people with COPD. The data helps scientists understand how lung diseases like COPD affect breathing patterns.
