West indies stomach cancer study seeks hidden infection clues

Summary
This study looks at how common Helicobacter pylori infection is in people newly diagnosed with stomach cancer in Martinique. Researchers will collect tumor samples, healthy tissue, and blood to build a biobank for future studies. The goal is to better understand why stomach cancer is more common in the West Indies than in mainland France and to identify other risk factors, such as environmental pollutants. About 112 adults with stomach cancer will take part.
