Heated foods may offer hope for kids with swallowing disorder

NCT ID NCT06381219

First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether children with eosinophilic esophagitis (a condition causing throat inflammation) can safely eat heated forms of egg or milk without symptoms returning. About 36 kids who are currently avoiding these foods will try gradually more heated versions. The goal is to see if heat changes the proteins enough to prevent inflammation, possibly allowing a normal diet.
