Hot chemo wash: lab tests aim to find best drug for tough abdominal cancers
NCT ID NCT04847063
Summary
This study aims to improve a treatment for cancer that has spread to the lining of the abdomen. The treatment involves surgery to remove tumors, followed by a heated chemotherapy wash inside the abdomen. Researchers will test different chemotherapy drugs on tumor samples in the lab to see if they can predict which drug will work best for each patient during the actual heated wash. The goal is to better control the disease and extend survival for up to 60 adults with specific abdominal cancers.
