Hot workout: new study reveals how heat changes blood sugar in type 1 diabetes
NCT ID NCT07341243
First seen Jan 16, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looks at how exercising in hot conditions (40°C) changes blood sugar levels in people with type 1 diabetes compared to a normal temperature (20°C). Thirty-eight adults with type 1 diabetes who exercise regularly will do moderate-intensity exercise in both conditions. Researchers will measure blood sugar, body temperature, and related hormones to understand how heat affects glucose use during and after exercise.
