First seen Jan 30, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests a new adjustable cooler for storing donor hearts during transport to the transplant hospital. The cooler aims to keep the heart at a steady temperature, reduce waste, and lower costs compared to the current standard device. About 80 adults receiving a heart transplant will take part, and researchers will check if the new cooler leads to fewer heart problems after surgery.
