Could a quick Pre-Op test predict your recovery from heart surgery?
NCT ID NCT04643535
Summary
This study aimed to find out if measuring the thickness of a protective layer lining blood vessels (called the glycocalyx) before heart surgery could help predict which patients might develop serious complications after their operation. Researchers planned to enroll 130 patients undergoing heart surgery with a heart-lung machine. The goal was to gather knowledge to potentially improve future patient care by identifying higher-risk individuals before surgery.
