New heart treatment aims to cut bleeding risk for vulnerable patients

NCT ID NCT05221931

Summary

This study compares two procedures to open clogged heart arteries in patients who are at a high risk of serious bleeding. It tests whether using a special drug-coated balloon is as safe and effective as the standard drug-coated metal stent. The balloon treatment may allow patients to take strong blood-thinning medications for a shorter time, which could lower their bleeding risk.
