Heart attack scar tissue may still flex: small study probes hidden contractions

NCT ID NCT04757168

First seen Jun 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looked at 10 people who had a heart attack and later needed treatment for dangerous heart rhythms. Researchers used a special mapping system to see if electrically stimulating scar tissue in the heart could improve how well that area contracts. The goal was to understand the link between electrical signals and heart muscle movement, not to test a new treatment.
