Blood test could predict heart attacks in kidney patients
NCT ID NCT07141628
Summary
This study aims to understand if a specific blood marker called lipoprotein A (Lp(a)) can help predict heart problems in people with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD). Researchers will follow 300 patients with stage 4 CKD for 18 months to see if high Lp(a) levels are linked to heart attacks, strokes, or other cardiovascular events. This is an observational study, meaning it gathers information to improve future care, but does not test a new treatment.
