Scientists scan for hidden fat to solve HIV heart risk mystery

NCT ID NCT06784154

Summary

This study aims to understand why people living with HIV have a higher risk of heart attacks. Researchers will use MRI scans to measure fat stored around the heart and liver in 100 participants, half with HIV and half without. The goal is to see if differences in this internal fat storage explain the increased heart disease risk and could point to future treatments.
