Advanced heart scan may better predict surgery survival
NCT ID NCT07151495
Summary
This study aims to see if a newer, more detailed heart imaging technique called speckle tracking echocardiography can better predict patient survival and outcomes after mitral valve surgery compared to current standard imaging methods. Researchers will enroll 300 adults with severe mitral regurgitation who are scheduled for surgery. The goal is to determine if the newer scan provides additional useful information to help doctors make better treatment decisions.
