Radiation zaps heart failure in groundbreaking trial

NCT ID NCT06661876

Summary

This study is testing whether a single, low-dose radiation treatment to the whole heart can help people with advanced heart failure that hasn't responded well to standard medications. Researchers will give 40 participants with severe heart failure a 5Gy radiation dose and monitor their heart function, symptoms, and quality of life over 6 months. The goal is to see if this unconventional approach can improve how well the heart pumps blood and reduce hospital visits.
