New scan could reveal hidden nerve damage in failing hearts
NCT ID NCT06965621
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study tests a new imaging agent called 18F-mFBG to see how well it can show nerve damage in the hearts of people with heart failure and an implantable defibrillator (ICD). About 20 adults with stable heart failure from blocked arteries will get a PET scan using this agent. The goal is to see if the scan can tell which patients had a shock from their ICD in the past year, which might help doctors better manage heart failure in the future.
