New diabetes drugs tested to harden heart plaque

Summary
This study aims to see if two newer types of diabetes medication can slow or reverse the buildup of fatty plaque in heart arteries better than the standard drug metformin. It will involve 300 adults who have both diagnosed coronary artery disease and pre-diabetes. Researchers will use heart scans over two years to measure changes in the plaque.
