Heart device trial aims to tame dangerous irregular heartbeat
NCT ID NCT04172883
Summary
This study tested if a special pacing feature in implanted heart devices could slow the progression of atrial fibrillation (AF), a common irregular heartbeat, in Indian patients. It compared two different settings for this feature to see if one was better at preserving device battery life while still effectively managing AF. The trial was terminated early and involved 79 participants who already had a compatible heart device.
